After leaving University I toured Eourope and North America for six months before beginning my career where I worked for several prestigious companies including Microsoft, Cisco Systems and BMW Financial Services. In 2002 I took a years break to embark on a round the word trip. I had always been a keen traveller however this trip confiemed that experiencing different countries and cultures was my passion. Since then I have worked and travelled around the world. I have visited over twenty countries during this time and have lived and worked in Thailand, Singapore, Australia and now China.
During my first year in China I worked in every section of the Chinese school system from Kindergarten through to High School. It gave me a wide view of the systems and processes within Chinese education and also a fantastic foundation from which to build and develop as a teacher. I've had classes with children from three years old all the way up to young adults preparing to go to University or enter the working world. I've worked with a huge variety of situations, from one on one coaching sessions to holding a class for 400 Kindergarten students on Children's Day. I lectured 200 High School students on the opportunities that learning English can bring them in the future and gave a speech at a University in Xi'an to education professionals on differences between Chinese and Western school systems and the difficulties of both teaching and learning English. Experiencing different age groups, schools, class sizes and formats has given me a complete skillset and an immense flexibility within my approach to each individual class.
I have been teaching the UEI programme since September 2011 and have been primarily teaching Grade 8 English for the last 18 months and I love every minute of it. My students are bright and funny and the improvements they make not only in English but developing as young individuals is a privilege to see. In December 2013 I took two of my students to the Jiangsu English Competition in Nanjing where they both finished in the top twenty five for the entire province. In my first full year at the Lianyungang Foreign Language School I received an award for outstanding performance as a Foreign Teacher. I was asked to be a guest speaker at the February 2014 Teacher's Conference and was given the role of Curriculum and Performance Advisor. I look forward to everybody involved with the UEI programme going on to achieve great things in the future.

2011年开始，我在UEI项目授课，到现在为止，我任八年级UEI教师已有18个月，我享受这份工作的每一分钟。我的学生们都很聪明有趣，他们的提高不仅仅是在英语方面，在作为一个青少年方面，他们的提高也相当明显。在2013年12月，我带领两名学生赴南京参加江苏省英语竞赛，他们均获得全省前25名的好成绩。
在连云港外国语学校完成第一年的工作后，我获得了杰出外籍教师奖，
在2014年的教师研讨会中，我受邀成为教师代表发言人，就课程与教学方法给予指导。
