Yugan No.2 middle school, founded in 1962, is a key middle school in Shangrao city, and the landmark construction of ordinary high school in Jiangxi province. Once awarded as “advanced units built by soldiers and civilians”, the current principal is Yuping who is also a famous alumnus.
The school is located on the Banks of the Poyang Lake with beautiful scenery in Yuting town with profound culture and history.
Ø School history
The predecessor of Yugan No.2 middle school, the junior high school in Yugan, was founded in 1962. With the expansion of the scale, it upgraded to the key middle school in Yugan in 1985, renamed as Yugan No.2 middle school. And it upgraded to the key middle school in Shangrao in 1999. In 2002, it was recognized as provincial key construction of ordinary middle school.
Ø Educational philosophy
Currently there are 183 On-the-job staff, 56 classes, 3621 students, 96 teachers with middle and senior titles.
For forty years, with trials and hardships, civilization inheriting, through the unremitting efforts of several generations, Yugan No.2 middle school has been gradually improving the school grade. School adheres to the spirit and to the ideas of running school, "To learn the real truth, to be a real man.”. It tries to practice the school culture "Diligence, truth-seeking, unity, enterprising". Following the teaching Culture "Professional, innovation, rigorous, love life" ".Aspire to style of study “Honest, happy, cultivate one's morality". The traditions have been inherited .The education levels have developed innovatively and steadily, and teaching facilities have been improving. Teaching quality has been enhances unceasingly. The school is filled with talented people and has sent a large number of outstanding talents to prestigious domestic universities, such as the Chinese People's University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Shanghai Transportation University, Zhejiang University and so on, winning the recognition from society.
Since 1996, the school has been adhering to the moral “Education first". According to the three-dimensional integrated mode of moral education "School, society and family", the school creatively carries out other forms of moral education mode "soldiers and civilians build together, people and police officers build together ,villages and schools build together", therefore ,awarded as" The civilized school of Shangrao", “the advanced unit built by soldiers and civilians” by municipal party committee and municipal government of Shangrao. Ø Development vision
The school regards quality education as the center, and carries out the stratified teaching, characteristic teaching to provide a broad stage for the development of students. Since the opening of the educational reform experimental classes in 1994, the school walked out of a new way for developing eugenics from whole of the county and poor rural area. With outstanding teaching performance for the county, it has formed its own characteristic autonomy teaching mode "preview, tutoring, exploration".
