包头市第四中学是自治区首批优质高中，自治区示范性高级中学。学校创建于1956年10月，位于青山区文化路50号，占地面积39375平方米，建筑面积34028平方米。学校12次夺得包头市文科高考状元，有42名理科、文科学生考入清华大学、北京大学。在这里，每一位学生彰显着闪光的才华。
学校力争实现“平安四中”“特色四中”“美丽四中”的办学目标。全校师生全面提高教育教学质量，着力打造和谐校园；学校名师荟萃，英才云集，一大批师德高尚、治学严谨、能力突出、学识渊博的名师云集四中执掌教鞭，蒙沐教泽，现有214名教职工，专任教师153人。其中有硕士研究生学历的教师59人，特级教师1人，正高级教师1人，高级教师83人，自治区学科带头人、教学能手，包头市名教师、学科带头人、教学能手共59人。
学校重视校园文化建设，努力把信息化的环境建设作为打造人文校园的硬件目标。校园网络已与国际接轨，成为包四中对外交流信息的平台。
学校社会声誉极佳，名重包头，闻达内蒙，多次被评为“包头市素质教育示范学校”、 “全国最具幸福感的学校”、“全国首批百所数字校园示范校”等100多项荣誉称号。
回首过去，包四中走过的五十年，是不平凡的五十年，是变革发展的五十年，是取得巨大成绩的五十年。我们深知今后的路还很长，任务还很重。随着教育改革和素质教育地不断深入，我们坚信我们会做的更好！
No. 4 Middle School is one of the most outstanding schools in BaoTou, and it is an autonomous model high school. The school, founded in October 1956, is located in 50th Wenhua road in QingShan district; covering an area of 39,375 square meters. The school is known for liberal arts. It has won 12 times of Liberal Arts Examinations. 42 science and liberal arts students admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University graduated from this school. In this school, each student can show their brilliance and intelligence.
The school strives to achieve "peace school", "unique school", and “beautiful educational school”. In order to improve educational and teaching quality, we focused on creating harmonious campuses all the time. Thus, the school is gathered with a large number of noble moralities, outstanding, knowledgeable teachers. Currently, our school has a current teaching staff of 214, 153 full-time teachers. Among these teachers, 59 of them have post graduate degrees, 1 senior teachers and autonomous region leader. Besides, our school also has 59 teaching experts, and a lot of academic leaders.
Our School pays a lot of attention on construction of campus culture and strives to be an informational and technology school. Therefore, our campus’ network has always kept pace with international standards, which are the exactly external platforms for exchange of information for students.
Meanwhile, our School enjoyed a great reputation in BaoTou city and has been rated as "quality educational model schools in BaoTou city" many times; and also "the happiest of schools across the country", "national first batch of hundreds of digital campus demonstration school" as well as other 100 honorary titles.
Looking back the past decades, it was extraordinary 50 years, which was full of changing and developing. Our school has made great achievements. All the students and teachers are very proud of this school. We know that our road to success is still very long; the task is still very heavy. But with the deepening educational reforms and quality-oriented education, we believe that we will become better in the near future!
